For the 2016 Spring Semester I will be studying abroad in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland home to the Virginia Tech Steger Center for International Scholarship. Riva San Vitale is located on the edge of Lake Lugano and only half an hour from the Italian border. I will be studying there with 15 other architecture students.
A good portion of my time will be spent in Riva San Vitale at the Virginia Tech owned building known as the Villa Maderni. This is a 250+ year old villa that Tech purchased in 1991 and renovated for use as a base for European studies.
The rest of my time will be spent traveling. Our professor, Hans Rott, will lead us on a series of trips that cover a good portion of the European continent. The program starts on January 18th in Lisbon, Portugal as we make our way to Switzerland. But before that, a small group of friends and I will start our journey in London on the 15th. Keep your eyes out for more blog posts! Arrivederci!
